Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial

Considered the Eighth Wonder of the World since the 16th Century, El Escorial is a jewel created by King Felipe II and his architect Juan Bautista de Toledo in honour of the victory over the French in the Battle of San Quintín. Royal Palace of Aranjuez

As one of the residences of the Spanish Royal Family, the Palace of Aranjuez is a national heritage site. It was initially ordered to be built by Felipe II Juan Bautista, but he died before it could be finished. Two generations passed until Carlos III could finish the palace which today stands as the jewel of Aranjuez.
